My first time at the Ensign Region V Championships was a BLAST! Anyone who is opting not to go to these events (if they're always as much fun) is totally missing out. We on Aldebaran were perhaps not the most competitive boat in the mix, but nevertheless found it to be a great learning experience and an opportunity to see a fantastic fleet of Ensigns and meet some excellent sailors.
I was really impressed by the host yacht club. The Les Cheneaux Yacht Club really have it together and they were a kind and accommodating group of people to say the least. I hope we can someday return the favor by hosting an event of that caliber here in Marquette.
That said, I was equally impressed by Fleet 35's positive presence at the regatta. We were well represented in number, level of competitiveness, and spirit - as noted by the organizers at the awards banquet!

Who's hosting next year's Regional? I can hardly wait!
