Hello. My family and I just moved to Marquette last week. We had a small catamaran in Vermont (now sold) and I crewed on a 34' racing sloop in NC for 4 years. We currently have no boat but I am very eager to learn about lake superior. If you need crew please email me! Im 34, I am a professor at NMU and MGH and am eager to experience great lakes crusing and am passionate about sailing. Thanks!

Welcome to Marquette, Kevin! If you're passionate about sailing, you've come to the right place. Our club is full of friendly people who share your enthusiasm for Lake Superior in both leisure and sport. Your original post is a great way to open communications with our membership and if you're interested in sailing competitively, I'd be happy to put your name on our Crew List. We share this list with skippers of Ensign Fleet 35 to provide backup in case a regular crew member is unavailable or a skipper is seeking a permanent placement.

In any case, I encourage you to attend a General Membership meeting and see what we're about and what our future plans are. Check the Event Calendar for news on when that will be. Another opportunity to meet people is a while into the future - August 2nd. We're having a Tent Party to celebrate summer sailing and raise money for a new race committee boat. Although I'm not certain of anything planned - there are usually people milling about the club on the 4th of July during the day, so that could be another opportunity.
